Jacarandas & Sunsets

A meandering conversation left me feeling antsy, confused, exposed and all forms of upset…But still that couldn’t take away the beauty around me of Jacarandas & Sunsets…

I’ll never know what he, she, they, them thought when my body they explored…

Yet, this led to years of suppressed emotions which a meandering conversation forced me to no longer ignore…

Mind blown. Heart cracked. Soul aching and kinda sore…

Jacarandas & Sunsets effortlessly beautiful as I reflect, mourn and scorn at a secret and secrets which robbed me of my innocence which left my heart and spirit aching and eternally sore…

The longer I reflect on it, the louder my conflict is inside…

It’s a tad too much to fully comprehend that back then, on a strawberry swing a part of me reawakened and died.

Jacarandas & Sunsets, a reflection of God’s greater glory…

And now a permanent reminder of how a meandering conversation revealed to me the enormity of my story.

Well Orchestrated Wonders

By Rutendo Mutsamwira

Well Orchestrated Wonders, meticulously diligent, planned, observed and executed.

Rewriting narratives, giving a varied tone and voice to the multitudes of AfriCANS all over the world, aware of how we are depicted, under-celebrated, re-claiming, and creating our own narratives.

Global citizens scattered across the globe, each to her and his own…

What sets them apart from others, is their inability to accommodate nor acknowledge the conformist comfort zone.

Realizing their purpose and obligations, they proactively pursue their dreams even if it means at times they walk alone.

Well Orchestrated Wonder’s cannot do everything to change the world, but they will DO something.

At times overwhelmed and choked by the nostalgia perpetuated through diaspora initiated separation…

Kings and Queens partially shackled mentally, physically, geographically, politically, verbally, cognitively and sexually through separation, isolation, repression, and obligation.

Yet, still they strive for the betterment of themselves, their others while fighting the trivialization and ridicule of their people, nations and continent.

Well Orchestrated Wonders comprising an assortment of progressive, innovative, proactive, “ I will not stop until I get there” kind of people.

You cannot do everything to change the world, but for pete’s sake can you do SOMETHING to impact your world.

The Brave Ones

By Rutendo Mutsamwira

The brave ones are the one’s whose story is often untold…

Those rejected and persecuted with no hand held out to hold.

The brave ones know and acknowledge that they’re all they have…

Yet knowing this they still sacrifice all they have.

The brave ones seldom speak but move the hearts of many…

I’ve been moved by some and not once had to pay a penny.

The brave ones are graceful and swan-like in their movement…

Their true beauty emanates through societal and self inflicted bereavement.

The brave ones are wise knowing when and how to speak…

They always act accordingly even when they are mentally, spiritually and emotionally weak.

The brave ones are many, you encounter them every day of every week….

Everyone has a battle their fighting so be mindful the seeds you sow when you speak.
